Josh Thomson recently weighed in on whether the Diaz brothers should take up a fight with Jake Paul.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul is set to take on the toughest test of his boxing career on October 29 when he faces UFC legend Anderson Silva. The eight-round bout is scheduled to take place at the Desert Diamond Arena in Arizona. Paul has previously expressed interest in taking on Nate Diaz in a boxing match after his scheduled fight with 'The Spider'.

In the latest edition of the Weighing In podcast, Thomson advised the Diaz brothers against taking up a fight with 'The Problem Child' should he win against Silva. 'The Punk' opined that Nick Diaz and Nate Diaz could lose future fighting prospects if they suffer losses against Paul. Thomson instead advised the Stockton natives to take on relatively easy fights.

Expressing his opinion on a potential boxing match between the Diaz brothers and Jake Paul, Thomson said:

"If Jake Paul gets rid of Anderson [Silva], if I am Nick or Nate do I take that fight? That's a lot of money, it's gotta be a ton of money because you may never box again after that. Like if you lose that fight, no one's gonna wanna see you fight somebody else then after that."

Thomson continued:

"I think Nick and Nate right now, it's a good opportunity for them to fight someone they can beat, get their win, make a million...because they will sell...And then move on to the next and then maybe build up that fight with Jake Paul. I don't think taking that fight directly with Jake Paul if he does beat Anderson Silva is a wise thing to do."

Josh Thomson shares his thoughts on backup fighters for upcoming lightweight title match at UFC 280

In another edition of the Weighing In podcast, host Josh Thomson discussed the backup plan for the promotion if either one pulls out in the lightweight title match between Oliveira and Makhachev. 'The Punk' stated:

"If Islam falls off, you slide Volkanovski in there because Oliveira used to be the former champ. You wanna make sure that you're having Volkanovski fight who used to be the champ."

If Oliveira falls out, 'The Punk' suggests Beneil Dariush should slide in:

"If Oliveira falls out, you slide Dariush in there because Dariush is ranked high, and why risk Volk right now for that until you have yourself a real champion? I would rather see Volk fight the real champion. Right now, everyone says the champ has a name, Charles Oliveira."
