ONE strawweight world champion Joshua Pacio believes he has found holes in Jarred Brooks’ game plan.

‘The Passion’ will attempt to exploit every opportunity when the two step into the ONE 164 main event on December 3. Airing live from the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Pacio will attempt to close out 2022 with a bang, giving his hometown crowd something to cheer about.

Just days away from the highly anticipated showdown, ‘The Passion’ appeared on JM Siasat’s Sparring Sessions podcast to share some thoughts on his looming bout with ‘The Monkey God’ on Saturday:

“I trained hard for this, all the aspects of my game so I’m ready for it. I think we got this special game plan for this fight. We see holes in that man.”

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until fight night to get a better idea of what exactly Joshua Pacio’s game plan is. Interestingly, fans and fighters are seemingly split on who will leave the Philippines with the strawweight title wrapped around their waist. Saturday’s headliner will be a classic battle between striker vs. grappler. While Pacio can hold his own on the mat, the grappling game belongs to Jarred Brooks.

Will Joshua Pacio stay on his feet and light up ‘The Monkey God’ or will Brooks’ relentless pressure and wrestling skills be enough to unseat the strawweight king?

When Joshua Pacio and Jarred Brooks square off inside the circle at ONE 164, each fighter will have a specific plan of attack. For Brooks, it will be all about getting the fight to the ground. On the flip side, Pacio will aim to keep the fight standing and get the job done with his hands.

However, ‘The Passion’ is well aware of Brooks’ improvements in the stand-up game and how well-rounded ‘The Monkey God’ will be when he goes for ONE gold on Saturday night:

“Jarred Brooks, we know his caliber. He’s a very high-level wrestler, very good in the ground. His striking is also leveling up, and we watched that in his fight with Hiroba Minowa. I think he’s a well-rounded athlete, he’s complete.”

Pacio vs. Brooks will headline a stacked lineup featuring a can’t-miss co-main event. ‘The Kicking Machine’ Superlek Kiatmoo9 faces Panpayak Jitmuangnon in the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix final. Fans in Manila will also be treated to the return of two former ONE world champions, Brandon Vera and Geje Eustquio.
