Khabib Nurmagomedov appeared overexcited at the recent Bellator event as he nearly choked out his cousin Umar Nurmagomedov. Following that, the UFC Hall of Famer took to social media and gave a six-word reaction to the hilarious incident.
For context, Nurmagomedov and the bantamweight rising contender were in Bellator champion Usman Nurmagomedov's corner during the latter's unanimous decision win against Alexandr Shabily in a lightweight title fight at the Bellator Champions Series 4 event, which took place this past Saturday at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California.
Nurmagomedov performed well and dominated his opponent throughout the fight. A huge moment occurred in the fourth round when Shabliy seemed to be wounded by a head kick delivered by the Dagestani, who then went for a guillotine choke on his fellow Russian but was unsuccessful.
The former UFC lightweight champion became excited by the moment. 'The Eagle' was overcome with emotion and briefly choked Umar before releasing his grip.

The MMA icon then shared a story about the humorous incident on Instagram. The 28-year-old was mockingly congratulated by Nurmagomedov for not giving up, writing:
''Good job brother, you didn't tap @umar_nurmagomedov''
In 2020, following his lightweight title unification bout against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254, the UFC legend announced his retirement from combat sports. Gaethje was eventually submitted in the second round by the Russian, who controlled the fight from the start due to his excellent wrestling abilities.
With his win, Nurmagomedov increased his perfect record to 29-0 and cemented his place among the MMA's greatest fighters.
As for Umar, in his most recent octagon outing, the undefeated Dagestani squared off against Cory Sandhagen in a bantamweight No. 1 contender bout at UFC Abu Dhabi last month. Their fight went to the distance after 25 minutes of action, with Nurmagomedov winning by unanimous decision.
When Umar Nurmagomedov disclosed what Khabib Nurmagomedov told him during the Cory Sandhagen fight
Umar Nurmagomedov appeared unhappy with his performance despite defeating Cory Sandhagen at UFC Abu Dhabi last month. The rising bantamweight contender also revealed what his cousin Khabib Nurmagomedov told him during the fight.
In the UFC Abu Dhabi post-fight press conference, Nurmagomedov disclosed 'The Eagle's' advice, saying:
''Now beginning champion rounds. You have to be strong. Don't show weakness.''
