UFC fighter Khamzat Chimaev has addressed the criticism he's received from MMA fans regarding his cardio. Chimaev is all set to compete on the upcoming UFC 308 card and appeared at media day on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old was asked about receiving backlash from fans for what some have perceived to be a lack of cardio. Chimaev responded by pointing out that he has managed to defeat all his opponents to date.
He then proceeded to explain his mindset going into a fight, sharing that he always intends to score a finish and is not concerned with saving his gas tank:
"Everyone talk about my condition but nobody sees what I done with the guys, you know. So, I always fight. I'm not a guy who is jumping around and trying to save my gas station, you know. So, I go always all in. So, I like to go and finish somebody. I try to finish the guys, if it doesn't work, I'm gonna go the distance. Doesn't matter, man. I'm here to just win my fight."

Chimaev will take on former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker in a five-round clash in the co-main event of UFC 308. The event will take place on Oct. 26 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Khamzat Chimaev has weighed in on his upcoming showdown against Robert Whittaker at UFC 308. According to 'Borz', the five-round scrap will not go the distance.
In a UFC fight preview video, Chimaev opined that Whittaker is not as "hungry" as him and that he will finish 'The Reaper' this weekend:
"This version of Robert Whittaker been one of the best guys. But now, it's my time to beat him. I can catch anyone with my takedown. Will be hard for him... I'm going to finish this guy, he's not hungry like me. He's not that kind of fighter like me. It's a big difference."
