Liam Harrison believes Joseph Lasiri is ‘not big or strong enough’ to deal with Rodtang

With a huge battle between elite strikers coming up at ONE on Prime Video 4, Liam Harrison has weighed in with his prediction. ONE flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang Jitmuangnon will put his belt on the line on November 18, taking on the champion from the weight class below in strawweight Joseph Lasiri.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon has produced one of the greatest runs in ONE Championship, going undefeated when competing under the Muay Thai ruleset inside the Circle.

Whilst it will take a huge performance for anyone to dethrone ‘The Iron Man’, Joseph Lasiri is on a streak of upsetting the odds, procuring back-to-back finishes to become the ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion.

Liam Harrison is very high on Joseph Lasiri, but he sees the move in weight class being the deciding factor going into this champion vs champion match-up. In an interview with ONE Championship, he said:

“I really like Lasiri, but at 135 pounds, he’s just not big or strong enough to cause Rodtang real problems. I think, and hope, Lasiri stays champion and a formidable force at 125, but at 135, he’s a bit too small.”

Former bantamweight Muay Thai world championship challenger Liam Harrison is scheduled to return at ONE on Prime Video 6. On January 14 in Bangkok, Harrison will welcome back Pongsiri P.K.Saenchai, who makes his return to the Circle after last competing with ONE in 2021.

Former adversaries Nong-O Gaiyanghadao and Liam Harrison meet in the United Kingdom

Just months after their highly-anticipated clash in the Circle, the reigning ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao recently came face-to-face with his former opponent Liam Harrison.

Nong-O had traveled to the UK for a seminar tour when he ran into a familiar face. In a short video posted on his Instagram, the 35-year-old Thai legend crossed paths with Liam ‘Hitman’ Harrison as the two shared a quick conversation.

Alongside the video, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao posted this caption which has been translated into English:

“There are not many boxers like us. We fight each other to death. In the end, we are friends. Nice to meet you 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Great memories 👍🏼 #worldchampion @liambadco #muaythai”

Their clash at ONE on Prime Video 1 came to a premature and disappointing end when Harrison was on the wrong end of an unfortunate leg injury. When he couldn’t continue, the fight was waved off and awarded to the defending world champion as a first-round TKO.
