Back at ONE on Prime Video 1, Liam Harrison was defeated by ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama in the opening round.

After producing one of ONE Championship’s greatest ever Muay Thai contests with his incredible comeback against Muangthai PK Saenchai, Harrison earned a shot at the dominant world champion.

His clash with Nong-O last August didn’t last long after Harrison suffered an injury to his leg that caused by the world champion’s leg kicks. This injury has continued to be a setback for ‘The Hitman’ since the fight as he regularly posts updates on his rehabilitation process.

In a recent interview with The MMA Superfan, Liam Harrison spoke about the current state of his knee injury and what exactly is the issue. He said:

“Obviously I've been having some knee problems since the Nong-O fight and, yeah, it just turned out to be a lot worse than originally thought. And I tore a lot of the main ligaments in my knee, and the only way I was gonna repair them was with surgery.”

Despite not being able to return to training yet, this hasn’t kept Harrison out of the gym. He has continued to do whatever he can without making his injuries worse by focusing on training the upper half of his body and giving his knee enough time to recover.

Whilst Liam Harrison remains on the sidelines, working hard to return to the circle once he has recovered from his knee injuries, he recently shared a trip down memory lane.

Harrison has had a lengthy career, competing all over the world in Muay Thai. The ONE bantamweight Muay Thai contender recently posted a vlog of himself competing in an event a year and a half ago.

Back in October 2021, Harrison took part in the Road to ONE: Muay Thai Grand Prix event in London, England. The event was hosted as a collaboration between ONE Championship and the European promotion Muay Thai Grand Prix.

The video he posted features a behind-the-scenes look at the event and Harrison’s experience competing on it. At The O2 arena, Liam Harrison defeated Frenchman Brayan Matias via unanimous decision to mark a successful return to competition after eighteen months away from the ring.

The win prompted a career resurgence for Harrison, who started to compete more frequently, returning to the circle to produce a career highlight.

In his first fight back under the ONE Championship banner, ‘The Hitman’ went to war with Muangthai PK Saenchai and produced one of the greatest comebacks the promotion has ever seen to earn himself a shot at Nong-O Hama, the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion.
