ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci recently visited Mongolia and spent some time with former Mongolian president Khaltmaagiin Battulga. A few weeks ago, 'Darth Rigatoni' beat Mongolian sambo practitioner Gantumur Bayanduuren in a lopsided submission grappling match for the world title.

In the match, Mikey Musumeci pretty much pulverized Bayanduuren's knee with various leglocks and sent him to the hospital afterwards. It's not every day that you get to beat an athlete and then meet and be congratulated by his former president weeks later. Musumeci posted about the meeting on his Instagram account:

"Today I met the former president of Mongolia @battulgakh . What a pleasure and an honor to meet him 🙇🏻‍♂️❤️!! I can’t wait to visit Mongolia in the future! @onechampionship"

Battulga is a former member of the Mongolian national wrestling team, former chairman of the Mongolian Judo Federation, and was awarded a Merited Sportsmen of Mongolia award. He also won the wrestling World Cup in Ulaanbaatar in 1989 and was responsible for bringing Mongolian judokas to the Olympics for the first time.

Meeting and congratulating Musumeci after the American beat and hospitalized his countryman is a sign of Battulga's respect and admiration for the ONE world champion. Mikey Musumeci truly shatters borders as a great ambassador for his sport.

Mikey Musumeci pulverizes Gantumur Bayanduuren's leg in dominant performance at ONE Fight Night 6

If you want to see how lethal Mikey Musumeci's jiu-jitsu can be, watch him pulverize Gantumur Bayanduuren's leg with heel hooks and kneebars at ONE Fight Night 6. The bout, which was for Musumeci's ONE flyweight submission grappling world title, was a 10-minute destruction of Bayanduuren's knee.

After a brief venture into finding his submission entry, Musumeci proceeded to use tight kneebars and heel hooks in an attempt to force the tough Mongolian to tap out. The way Bayanduuren's knee was twisted numerous times was something even medical professionals would find difficult to watch.

In the end, the sambo world champion refused to tap out and just endured his way to a decision loss. As per medical reports, Bayanduuren's knee suffered damage akin to that of a motorcycle accident. There's a palpable sense of worry surrounding the Mongolian as there might be a chance that he won't be fighting again; or, at the very least, be sidelined for a very, very long time.
