Conor McGregor shaved his prominent beard for Halloween and fans on social media have varying reactions.

For Halloween, McGregor went as popular conman Frank Abagnale Jr., whose life story was turned into a movie in 2002. In the biopic Catch Me If You Can, Leonardo DiCaprio portrayed the charismatic convict.

However, many fans on social media couldn't help but notice that McGregor looks very different without the facial hair he's been sporting for several years. Some liked the new look, but others aren't big fans of the bearlessness.

Most commenters weren't able to guess who McGregor dressed up as for Halloween. The guesses about who he's supposed to be are all over the place.

One Instagram user thought he was Warden Samuel Norton from The Shawshank Redemption, while another mistakenly guessed that he was Hans Landa from Inglorious Basterds.

But one commenter seemed to have the right idea. A fan who goes by the handle mightykonyoung wrote, "Catch me if ya can."

Conor McGregor promises to return to UFC soon

Conor McGregor's fans and supporters don't have to wait very long for the former UFC champ-champ to return to the octagon. That's if his recent comments are to be believed.

McGregor has been inactive since breaking his leg in his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, but he claimed that he'll be making his long-awaited comeback in the first few months of 2023.

"I'm going to be back soon, hopefully," MCGregor said on Instagram live. "Early 2023 I'm aiming for. Sometime in that first quarter. That will give me a good couple of months [to prepare]. Once I wrap this up in a couple of days, get the camp going [for] a good couple of months. And get going."

However, there has been a complication with McGregor's targeted return. UFC president Dana White confirmed that the Irish megastar took himself out of the USADA pool, meaning he'll have to complete the six-month process before being allowed to step foot inside the octagon.
