Second-ranked ONE Championship women's atomweight MMA contender 'The Menace' Denice Zamboanga of the Philippines says her next fight is a must-win, and that she cannot accept defeat by any means.
Zamboanga is set to face the Ukraine's Alyona Rassohyna for the interim atomweight MMA throne early next year, and the 27-year-old Quezon City resident is fully fixated on getting the victory.
Speaking to YouTube channel, The MMA Superfan, in a recent interview, Zamboanga says she has come a long way to lose now, and is confident she can turn the tide against the Ukrainian star.
The T-Rex MMA representative said:
"There’s a lot of people waiting to see this match, and my opponent has been out for three years. Considering the journey I’ve had to go through for this and then losing to her will be very disappointing. That’s why I’m giving 100 percent in training."
Zamboanga is coming off three impressive victories in a row, with decisions over Lin Heqin, Julie Mezabarba, and Noelle Grandjean. 'The Menace' has once again punched her ticket to a world title opportunity, and the Filipina can't wait to capitalize.
Meanwhile, Rassohyna has not seen action since back-to-back bouts with current atomweight queen Stamp Fairtex in 2021.
