Raul Rosas Jr. defeated Jay Perrin at UFC 282 in a spectacular first-round finish and handed Perrin his third straight loss in the promotion. After the bout, the 29-year-old struggled to subdue his emotions and could be heard talking dejectedly after losing to an 18-year-old debutant.

A video that surfaced recently showed a dejected Perrin walking over to his coach and apparently claiming his retirement from the octagon. The octagon camera caught 'The Joker' declaring that he "made a fool" out of himself and saying:

"That's probably it for me. I made a fool out of myself. That's no b******t. I f****d up. I blew it. I'm not good enough to be here. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm sorry I'm back home. I don't know. I think that's it. It was good to be here while I was. Hope I made somebody proud."

It is no secret that MMA is a rough sport for the mind and body, and competing at the highest level of the sport certainly takes its toll on the athletes. It is unclear if Jay Perrin still intends on retiring for good, and only time will tell if the Nevada native will see a return to the octagon anytime soon.

Raul Rosas Jr. made history as he became the UFC's youngest-ever fighter to be signed to a contract and the Mexican-American lived up to the hype with a spectacular performance in his debut.

When Raul Rosas Jr. said he would be the UFC's youngest champion

Raul Rosas Jr. came into the spotlight when he defeated Mando Gutierrez via unanimous decision on Dana White's Contender Series (DWCS) 55 and impressed the top brass at the world's biggest MMA promotion.

Following his win, the youngster was offered a contract with the UFC and 'El Nino Problema' wasted no time in making a very bold declaration about his future in the promotion. In his post-fight interview, Raul Rosas Jr. was asked how he saw his UFC journey going, and he replied:

"You know I'm just ready to fight every week... I don't even care you know. I'm all gas no breaks you know... I know it won't be easy, nothing is easy in this life, but I will become the youngest UFC champion. I don't care what it takes."

Jon Jones currently holds the record for being the youngest champion when he beat Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua for the light heavyweight title at the age of 23. While it is possible that an MMA prodigy like Raul Rosas Jr. could break that record, he also has competition from the likes of Muhammad Mokaev, who is gunning for the same glory.
