“Make her expose herself” - Mayssa Bastos says Danielle Kelly will eventually break in their ONE Fight Night 26 rematch

Mayssa Bastos plans to make Danielle Kelly "expose herself" in upcoming rematch.

Bastos made history in August by securing a unanimous decision win against Kelly, making her the second women's atomweight submission grappling world champion in ONE history. The Brazilian superstar faces the same challenge later this week, as Kelly's been awarded an immediate rematch.

On Friday, December 6, ONE Fight Night 26 will feature two world title fights, including Bastos vs. Kelly 2.

During an interview with ONE, Bastos talked about her upcoming rematch with Kelly. The reigning women's atomweight submission grappling queen had this to say about being more aggressive than their first meeting:

“But what I can say is that I intend to be a little more aggressive in this fight and make her expose herself more because she will start to make a few more mistakes and then the gaps will appear.”

ONE Fight Night 26 takes place inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Friday's event, Mayssa Bastos vs. Danielle Kelly 2, can be seen live and for free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Danielle Kelly's highly-anticipated ONE Championship debut took place in March 2022, a draw against Mei Yamaguchi at the legendary ONE X.

Since then, Kelly dominated the women's atomweight submission grappling division with wins against Mariia Molchanova (rear-naked choke), Ayaka Miura (unanimous decision), and Jessa Khan (unanimous decision).

Kelly seemed unbeatable in ONE before Mayssa Bastos pulled off the upset at ONE Fight Night 24. The American superstar has voiced her belief that she deserved the win against Bastos, making the rematch necessary.

As for Bastos, she competed once in the Chatri Sityodtong-run promotion before facing Kelly, a unanimous decision win against Kanae Yamada. Bastos plans to silence any doubt surrounding her title-winning performance by taking out the American superstar once again at ONE Fight Night 26.
