Second-ranked ONE Championship bantamweight Muay Thai contender Nico Carrillo has revealed that he is a huge fan of motivational influencer David Goggins. Goggins is famous for losing over 100 pounds in just three months to meet the weight requirement to become a Navy SEAL.
Today, Goggins has a massive social media following and is an ultramarathon runner, ultra-distance cyclist, and triathlete. Carrillo is one of the people Goggins has inspired, and 'King of the North' has made it no secret that he's a fan.
Speaking on a guest appearance on the Leather'd Podcast, Carrillo talked about taking inspiration from Goggins.
'King of the North' said:
"Everybody knows I’m a massive David Goggins fan, his two books…absolutely loved them. I mean you either love them or you hate them. I loved Ross Edgley’s books [The Art of Resilience] it’s amazing because again it puts science and stoicism into his own philosophy. And I love how he does that."
At just 26 years of age, Carrillo has risen to be one of the most exciting fighters in the world's largest martial arts organization. He has a penchant for scoring explosive knockout finishes and is always looking to put on a show.
