Robert Whittaker recently weighed in on the flyweight title picture after Alexandre Pantoja's latest title defense at UFC 310. The Brazilian turned in an incredible performance and submitted former RIZIN bantamweight champion Kai Asakura to earn his third title defense.
Following the bout, 'The Cannibal' expressed interest in fighting former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious 'Mighty Mouse' Johnson and issued a call out. Pantoja offered 'Mighty Mouse' the opportunity to return to the octagon and prove he is the GOAT of the division, however, Johnson reaffirmed that he is retired and has no interest in fighting again.
The reigning flyweight champion is in a tricky situation as he defeated several top-ranked 125-pounders during his ascension up the ranks and then again after becoming champion.
During the latest episode of his MMArcade Podcast, Whittaker named Kai Kara-France as a potential title challenger and mentioned that his knockout power would make for an intriguing matchup:

"It's hard in the position he's in is tricky in that division because he has beaten everybody. I definitely think Kai [Kara-France] is an option just because of Kai's last performance... Stopping [Steve] Erceg the way he did... Kai's always been in that top-5 discussion regardless. I'd love to see how Pantoja's chin holds up to Kai's power... If he does walk through Kai's power then he's invincible." [5:15]

Robert Whittaker believes Alexandre Pantoja could move up to bantamweight
In addition to discussing what could be next for Alexandre Pantoja, Robert Whittaker noted that he believes the reigning flyweight champion could move up to 135 pounds.
During the aforementioned episode, Whittaker mentioned that Pantoja could be successful at bantamweight, especially considering his performance against a natural bantamweight like Kai Asakura:
"Realistically, you would think that and I don't know how it would look is that that [Pantoja] potentially moving up to fight a heavier weight looking for those double title statuses... Making [moving up to bantamweight and] making some plays like that, earning a bit of cash because [Pantoja] is a bigger guy as well, you can see that." [5:03]
