“I am faster than him” – Roberto Soldic believes speed could be a key factor in fight against Murad Ramazanov

Roberto Soldic has broken down the physical differences between himself and his upcoming opponent Murad Ramazanov.

‘Robocop’ is wasting no time after signing with ONE Championship. The former two-division KSW champion signed with ONE earlier in 2022, and his promotional debut is set for ONE on Prime Video 5.

Soldic will be taking on undefeated Russian Murad Ramazanov, who is 3-0 inside the circle. During an interview with The MMA Superfan, the 27-year-old Croatian fighter had this to say about fighting Ramazanov:

“I'm also a different guy for this because I trained for this my whole life. We will see, but I'm very, very good with the hands, and I'm very fast. I mean, I think he's very strong but I'm strong too so I would use this, I am faster than him. It's going to be a good fight.”

Soldic holds a pro-MMA record of 20-3 with 17 KO/TKOs and one submission. ‘Robocop’ surprised MMA fans when he decided to sign with ONE over other MMA promotions, but the Croatian’s desire to compete in several martial arts was what drove him to sign with ONE.

Roberto Soldic discusses Murad Ramazanov potentially having a grappling game plan

Roberto Soldic is a well-rounded mixed martial artist, but there is a clear path to victory for his ONE on Prime Video 5 opponent.

Murad Ramazanov fits the stereotypical description of a Russian fighter who can dominate any opponent with his grappling. During the same interview with The MMA Superfan, Soldic had this to say about fighting the grappling-heavy Ramazanov:

“I think he's going to shoot, of course. But, it's an MMA fight. I'm focused all the time. It's MMA and I'm ready for everything. If I do what I do always, it's going to be a good fight for me, and I'm going to win this fight.”

Ramazanov has some power, but striking with Soldic could be a mistake. The stakes at ONE on Prime Video 5 increased after ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong revealed that the winner between ‘Robocop’ and the Russian will likely get the next welterweight title shot against reigning champ Christian Lee.
