'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon was unfortunately forced to pull out of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix earlier this year. Due to complications with weight and hydration, the Thai athlete was unable to continue in the semifinals.

In an interview with ONE Championship, the Muay Thai phenom explained what happened, saying:

"There was a problem about timing and the duration to make weight and hydration. I usually arrive in Singapore five days in advance where I could focus on making weight in time. But last time, I only had three days prior to the competition because we had some issues that made us delayed for the camp."

The ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion was replaced in the tournament by a training partner of his, Panpayak Jitmuangnon. Panpayak was victorious and will now meet the highly dangerous and skilled Superlek Kiatmoo9 in the final round of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix. The bout is booked for ONE 164 on December 3.

Since his untimely withdrawal from the tournament, 'The Iron Man' has not competed. However, he is now booked to face a fellow world champion in Joseph Lasiri at ONE on Prime video 4 on November 18.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon collides with another Muay Thai world champion

Muay Thai flyweight king Rodtang is scheduled to face off against ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion 'The Hurricane' Joseph Lasiri. The two talented fighters will have their highly anticipated matchup at ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18.

The event will be broadcast live and for free on Prime Video for all Amazon subscribers in North America.

'The Iron Man' is an extremely well-respected Muay Thai prodigy with hundreds of victories to his name. The Moroccan-Italian Lasiri sees this bout as a huge opportunity for him and his team.

In an interview with ONE Championship, he said:

“When I face off with Rodtang, I will be proud of myself, for sure. And what I’m really looking forward to is going there to do my job and making it an opportunity to be an inspiration for my team, my family, and the people around me.”

Going up in weight and facing a world champion is no easy task, especially when the champion is the feared striker Rodtang Jitmuangnon. No fighter in ONE Championship has been able to defeat 'The Iron Man'. Lasiri will hope to change that.
