ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon is looking to add another world title to his already impressive list of accomplishments.

The first in the sights of ‘The Iron Man’ is a kickboxing belt, after which he will gun for a mixed martial arts world title.

He shared the direction he is looking at going in during an interview with SCMP MMA. He highlighted his achievements in Muay Thai, noting that he wants to challenge himself further and go for more conquests outside the sport.

Rodtang said:

“I will set my goals one by one. First, I will go for the kickboxing belt and next it will be in MMA. I have defended my belt in Muay Thai four times and I think it’s time to move for another belt.”

The Thai steamroller, who is the No.1-ranked contender in the flyweight kickboxing division, sets his plans for a second world title into motion when he takes on China’s Jiduo Yibu at ONE Fight Night 6 on January 13 in Bangkok.

It will mark his first kickboxing contest in the circle in nearly two years. The ONE champion's last kickboxing fight was against Russian Tagir Khalilov in February 2021, which ended in a split decision in his favor.

'The Iron Man' also got his first taste of MMA in ONE last year in a special-rules superfight with MMA legend Demetrious Johnson. He was slept by Johnson via rear-naked choke in the second round, but said he learned a lot from that experience.

ONE Fight Night 6 happens at the Impact Arena and is live and free for North American fans with an active Amazon Prime subscription.

Lito Adiwang confident Rodtang Jitmuangnon will demolish Jiduo Yibu at ONE Fight Night 6

Filipino mixed martial arts fighter 'Thunder Kid' Lito Adiwang is high on the kickboxing abilities of Rodtang Jitmuangnon. He expects the Thai juggernaut to dominate in his scheduled fight at ONE Fight Night 6.

'The Iron Man' battles China’s Jiduo Yibu in a flyweight kickboxing showdown, part of ONE Championship’s first live offering for 2023. It will be the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion’s first kickboxing contest in the circle in nearly two years.

For Adiwang, the kickboxing game of the Thai champion is top-rate and could be tough to handle for Yibu.

The Team Lakay stalwart shared to The MMA Superfan:

“I think, with all respect for Rodtang’s opponent, but I see this fight being one-sided with Rodtang demolishing his opponent again.”

Rodtang recently said he wants to add a kickboxing world title to his already impressive resume moving forward, while Yibu will be looking to barge into the win column after narrowly missing out on a victory in his previous fight in ONE Championship.

Adiwang, meanwhile, remains sidelined as he recuperates from an ACL injury.
