American mixed martial arts superstar ‘Super’ Sage Northcutt dazzled the sold-out 1stBank Center crowd in Denver, Colorado, in his most recent outing – his first fight back after nearly four years on hiatus.

The 27-year-old phenom looked absolutely spectacular, showing off his trademark athleticism and finally putting one on the board in ONE Championship – a first-round heel hook submission over Pakistan’s ‘Wolverine’ Ahmed Mujtaba.

Northcutt and Mujtaba locked horns at ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III on Prime Video a few weeks ago, and was as good as Northcutt has looked his entire career.

Speaking in a recent guest appearance on Fistivities with KB & Renato Laranja, Northcutt revealed exactly how he was able to perform at such a high clip despite the lengthy absence from competition.

‘Super’ Sage said:

“I was training a lot, a lot, a lot of grappling, a lot of wrestling, striking. I was staying consistent. So, yeah, I kept myself busy even though I wasn’t fighting.”

Northcutt looked absolutely fire in his return, taking Mujtaba’s leg almost instinctively as soon as they hit the ground. Who knew Northcutt, a former teenage karate world champion black belt, would win by submission of all things. It was as unexpected an outcome as ever.

But the 27-year old certainly showed a facet of his game that had, up to that point, been grossly overlooked. Now a complete fighter, there’s no denying Northcutt has a bright future ahead of him.

Check out Sage Northcutt’s epic submission victory over Ahmed Mujtaba, as well as the rest of the incredible ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III card via replay, absolutely free to fans in the United States and Canada on Amazon Prime Video.
