Sean Strickland recently claimed that Marvin Vettori might be joining him at the Xtreme Couture MMA gym in Las Vegas. 'The Italian Dream' usually trains at Kings MMA in California but has been training in Phuket at the AKA Thailand facility for the past few months.

In a recent interview with The Schmo, Strickland claimed that Vettori will be training at Xtreme Couture in January next year. The 31-year-old also lauded the quality of fighters who train at his gym, highlighting the number of top-flight middleweights fighting out of the gym:

"This is probably one of the most stacked middleweight gyms we have. It's been rumored that Marvin Vettori will be training out here soon. I don't know if it's confirmed but the moment Marvin's here, this will be the best middleweight gym in the world... I don't know what he's doing, but it's been rumored that he might be out here in January."

Xtreme Couture is home to some of the most famous fighters on the UFC roster and in the sport of MMA. Founded by Randy Couture, the gym hosts fighters like Francis Ngannou, Chris Curtis, Sean Strickland and Meisha Tate, among others.

At the recently concluded UFC 282 pay-per-view, Chris Curtis and fellow Xtreme Couture fighter Edmen Shahbazyan both came away with knockout victories.

Meanwhile, Sean Strickland is currently gearing up to face Jared Cannonier at UFC Vegas 66 on December 17 at the UFC Apex facility in Nevada. The middleweight bout was originally slated for October at UFC Fight Night 212 but had to be rescheduled due to Strickland pulling out to treat a finger infection.

Rising UFC middleweight calls out Sean Strickland and Marvin Vettori

Dricus du Plessis is on a roll and wants to waste no time getting back into the octagon after a sensational performance against Darren Till at UFC 282. The South African national made his UFC debut in 2020 and has already compiled a four-fight win streak inside the octagon.

'Stillknocks' will likely break into the top tier of the middleweight rankings with his submission win over Till, who was previously ranked No.10. He is now looking to continue his ascent up the 185-pound ladder.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, du Plessis called out No.4-ranked Marvin Vettori and No.7-ranked Sean Strickland.
