As for the combat sports scene, Pereira competed thrice this year. In his most recent octagon appearance at UFC 307 last month, 'Poatan' took on Khalil Rountree Jr. Despite Rountree Jr.'s resilience, Pereira secured a fourth-round knockout win to make his third successful title defense.
Meanwhile, Danis competed in two MMA bouts under Bellator. In his last combat sports outing, the 31-year-old took on Logan Paul in an exhibition boxing match last year. However, he was disqualified in the sixth round.
Jon Jones hints at a possible fight with Alex Pereira
There were reports of Alex Pereira moving up a division and having a crack at the heavyweight belt in an attempt to become the first-ever three-division champion in UFC history. However, nothing is concrete as of yet.
Jon Jones, who is preparing for his heavyweight title defense against former champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 on Nov. 16, recently discussed a potential fight with Pereira.
'Bones' believes that a contest against the Brazilian would be far more significant than a fight with interim champion Tom Aspinall. In an interview with Kevin Iole, Jones stated:
''I will not defend my belt against Aspinall. He has not proven anything. I'm not here to give someone else a name thanks to me, I'm here to compete for legacy fights. Someone who would be worth it for my legacy would be Alex Pereira. We are both 37 years old, we both weigh around 240 pounds and that fight would be better for my legacy,"
