Stamp Fairtex predicts submission victory over Anissa Meksen in mixed-rules fight

Top-ranked women's atomweight Stamp Fairtex will be taking part in the second-ever custom-rules match under ONE Championship's banner. In it, she expects to submit kickboxing star Anissa Meksen.

The 25-year-old Thai star is far and away the more well-rounded fighter on paper, considering her opponent's lack of MMA experience. Meksen is a former Glory kickboxing world champion, but she has never competed in a professional MMA bout.

That will all change at ONE on Prime Video 6 when she and Stamp are permitted to wrestle and grapple. The former two-sport ONE titleholder believes that's how she'll finish the fight.

She told SCMP MMA:

"Of course it depends on how the game would be, but I would have to predict that I would win. But I will try to take her down by submission within the second round."

Stamp added a message to her fans, saying:

"I’m 100 percent going to [win] this match and please cheer for me."

Stamp Fairtex and Anissa Meksen aren't impressed with one another prior to mixed-rules clash

While both of these competitors don't have disdain for each other, there's no denying they aren't impressed with one another's skills.

Meksen told ONE:

"For me, she's a good fighter, but not the best. I have beaten stronger athletes than her. So for me, I never underestimate my opponent. But you know, I prepare like it will be the last one. Every time."

Stamp Fairtex shared her thoughts with SCMP MMA in a backstage interview:

"I think Dangkongfah is a good athlete, but the advantage that Anissa had over her is that Dangkongfah is quite smaller than her, and this is the first time Dangkongfah fought [on the global stage]. Maybe Dangkongfah got a little bit nervous and excited to fight in ONE. Anissa has good punches, that is all."

Anissa Meksen has gone 3-0 since joining ONE in September 2021, with two Muay Thai wins and a kickboxing victory over Cristiana Morales in her debut.

Meanwhile, Stamp is 9-2 in MMA under ONE's banner, with notable wins over Sunisa Srisen, Ritu Phogat, and Jihin Radzuan. Their two backgrounds are what make this custom-rules bout so intriguing.
