Former two-sport world champion Stamp Fairtex believes Anissa Meksen is going to feel her power in Muay Thai at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video.

Stamp and Meksen are en route to an atomweight mixed-rules clash next week on Friday, January 13. While it will be Stamp’s second appearance on a Prime Video fight card in US primetime, kickboxing and Muay Thai savant Anissa Meksen is yet to showcase what she’s all about in front of North American audiences.

Undefeated under the ONE banner in two sports, Meksen is convinced she will outstrike Stamp in Muay Thai before they reach the MMA rounds. Downplaying Stamp’s overall skill set with some trash talk, she ridiculed the Thai superstar by calling her a “dancer” rather than a fighter.

However, Stamp Fairtex won’t be bullied. Speaking to ONE, she responded to Meksen’s harsh words with a dark warning:

“She said she was better than me in everything because she is a fighter and I am a dancer. But if I can catch her in the Muay Thai clinch, she will definitely be doomed. She will never run away from my elbows in that clinch.”

Although Stamp Fairtex competes in MMA full-time, people tend to forget that she built the Muay Thai and kickboxing atomweight divisions with her own two hands.

Stamp defeated world champions at the elite level in both sports before the age of 21, becoming the first-ever two-sport world champion in the promotion’s history.

She set the bar so high that current two-sport world champion Janet Todd had to battle against her twice in kickboxing before beating Stamp by split decision in February 2020.

Stamp Fairtex grateful for lessons learned in world title fight with Angela Lee

Stamp Fairtex hopes to start the new year a little differently than the last. In early 2022, Stamp challenged Angela Lee for a chance to win the ONE women’s atomweight world title.

The Thai superstar made her quick rise to the No. 1 spot in the rankings following three hard-fought victories. Ultimately, it was her performance against Ritu Phogat at ONE: Winter Warriors that earned her the title shot she deserved.

At ONE X, Stamp clashed with Angela Lee in one of the most exciting world title fights of the massive three-part extravaganza.

In the first round, Stamp nearly took the win after hurting Lee with a strong left hook to the body. However, Lee miraculously recovered and survived the knockdown, going on to defeat Stamp on the ground with her signature rear-naked-choke in the following frame.

Although Stamp fell short in her endeavor to become the new ONE women’s atomweight world champion, she’s motivated to improve her skillset and return stronger than before.

In an end-of-the-year interview, she told ONE:

“My life has been pretty cool this year. First thing first, I had a big chance to face Angela Lee for the world title. Although I lost, I didn’t regret sharing the circle with her. I learned a great lesson from that fight. It was a big, good test for me.”
