ONE atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex sounded a warning to upcoming challenger Denice Zamboanga to be wary of her knockout power lest she find herself caught by surprise in devastating fashion.

The Thai superstar will stake her world title for the first time against 'The Menace' on June 7 at ONE 167 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. It marks her return to action after becoming the atomweight MMA queen back in September.

Stamp and Zamboanga are no strangers to one another, being friends and former teammates at the Fairtex Training Center.

While admitting that the Filipino challenger has some familiarity with her game, Stamp said Zamboanga really has no idea on how powerful her strikes are. It is something she said she will make sure to showcase at ONE 167.

She told The MMA Superfan in an interview:

"Of course, when we train, we have to hold back the power. So I don't think she realizes how hard I strike."

Stamp became ONE atomweight MMA world champion last September, claiming the vacant world title with a third-round TKO victory over South Korean Ham Seo Hee.

The win allowed her to make history as the only ONE fighter to have won world titles in three sports, having previously held the atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing belts.

Zamboanga, meanwhile, seeks to realize her long-standing dream of becoming a world champion at ONE 167. She currently sits as the division's No. 2-ranked contender and is on a two-fight upswing.

ONE 167 will be available live and for free in U.S. primetime on June 7 to North American fans via Amazon Prime Video.

Stamp taking note of boxing skills of Denice Zamboanga

While she is confident of her skill set heading into her title defense at ONE 167 on June 7 in Thailand, the Thai megastar is not counting out challenger Denice Zamboanga outright. She said her upcoming opponent is still dangerous, particularly with her outstanding punching.

The 26-year-old Thai world champion gave her thoughts on 'The Menace' in the same interview, highlighting the boxing skills of the Filipino challenger, which could pose problems if one does not prepare for it.

She said:

"Denice is a very good boxer. She's very good at boxing. She's really good at pushing forward and pressuring the opponents."

Apart from retaining her world title, Stamp is also out to extend her winning streak at ONE 167.
