Rose Namajunas got back to winning ways against Miranda Maverick in the co-main event of UFC Atlanta. The bout was a competitive affair, with both flyweight contenders having moments of dominance. But the judges' awarded the former champion a unanimous decision win 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28, which has sparked debate amongst MMA fans.
Namajunas arguably had the biggest moments of the fight, which included dropping her opponent with a crisp left-hook. But Maverick's grappling skillset was on full display as she was able to control 'Thug Rose' for portions of the fight.
After the bout, the UFC's official page on X shared the following:

"Straight robbery"
Former Bellator MMA fighter, and Conor McGregor's ex-grappling coach, Dillon Danis, was elated to see the former champion back in action. He took to X in a since-deleted post and wrote:
"Rose Namajunas is a straight thug. Goes after it every time she steps in there. Love watching her fight."
Several fans questioned the judges' scorecards, writing:
"30-27 twice?"
"29-28 Maverick"
Another fan acknowledged the competitive nature of the contest, reacting with:
"Could've seen it either way, good win for Rose."

Namajunas has aspirations of returning to the throne she once held. A victory over a surging contender in Maverick, who was on a four-fight winning streak, will send a message to UFC matchmakers that 'Thug Rose' still belongs at the top echelon of the sport.
