The MMA legend was in fine form when he dominated Danny Kingad for the unanimous decision to capture the ONE Flyweight MMA World Grand Prix title at ONE: Century Part I in October 2019 at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo.

ONE Championship revisited Johnson's Grand Prix win on Instagram, and the fans couldn't help but laud the insane pace he and Kingad displayed in their Tokyo duel.

The fight was a pure chess match of technique, with Demetrious Johnson pushing Kingad to his limits with mind-bending grappling exchanges. Johnson dug deep into his wrestling bag and subdued Kingad to capture the unanimous decision win.

'Mighty Mouse' captured the ONE flyweight MMA world title when he knocked Adriano Moraes out at ONE on Prime Video 1 in August 2022, before officially retiring in September 2024.


Demetrious Johnson shuts down the thought of returning to the cage

Demetrious Johnson is happy in his retirement. Although fans still clamor for a return to the cage, Johnson said he's content with spending time with his family and helping fighters share their stories on his YouTube platform.

Johnson steadily grew his online presence through his Mighty YouTube channel, and he plans to use that platform to help fighters grow bigger outside the cage.

He told MMA Fighting:

"Travel the world and talk to so many different athletes. And not just athletes, but just amazing people. I'd rather focus on that than coming back and fighting. For what?"
