The controversial internet celebrity and former kickboxing world champion Andrew Tate and his brother Tristian were arrested by Romanian authorities earlier this week on counts of alleged sex trafficking, rape, and formulating an organized crime group.

Tate's misfortune was, in a way, brought upon him by himself. It was one of 'King Cobra's Twitter responses to climate activist Greta Thunberg that tipped off Romanian police of the internet celebrity's presence in the European nation.

Authorities were reportedly able to trace the social media star to his home in Bucharest, based on a Romanian pizza box seen in one of his Twitter video responses to the Swedish teen.

Interestingly, in the video, Tate had famously claimed that he was not going to recycle the pizza boxes.

Realizing the irony of the situation, Greta Thunberg clapped back at the former fighter, saying:

"This is what happens when you don’t recycle your pizza boxes."

The social media feud between the two started after the infamous businessman taunted the climate change activist by bragging about his car collection to incite a response from Thunberg, who is an advocate for reducing carbon emissions.

Twitter reacts to Andrew Tates arrest

Andrew Tate is quite a controversial figure. While the 36-year-old has been banned from various social media platforms due to his many misogynistic remarks, a few revere him to be a speaker of truth.

So it's only logical that his arrest makes way for some hilarious Tweets from both sides. Let's take a look.

@ChudsOfTikTok thanked Elon Musk for letting Tate back on Twitter only to get owned by a 19-year-old. While @ZubyMusic reasserted that the kickboxer was innocent until proven guilty.

In a rather crafty pro-Thunberg Tweet @nameshiv said:

"Turns out Andrew Tate is a literal sex trafficker under arrest as we speak and this raises the question of how Greta Thunberg can call herself an environmentalist or climate activist when she was out burning garbage in public just yesterday."

Twitter user @cryptomanran said that Tate being arrested was a reminder that anyone who dares speak the truth will be silenced:

"Andrew Tate’s arrest is a reminder that they will silence anyone that exposes the truth. I really hope @elonmusk isn’t next."
