Fabricio Andrade is one of the premier knockout artists in ONE Championship and one of his former opponents, Jeremy Pacatiw, knows just how powerful the Brazilian star is.

That power will once again be put to the test when Andrade faces John Lineker for the ONE bantamweight world title at ONE on Prime Video 3 this Friday at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur. Pacatiw, who’s one of the better fighters from the Philippines, experienced first-hand how ferocious Andrade is on the feet.

The two talents battled it out at ONE: Full Circle this past February with Fabricio Andrade knocking Pacatiw out with a precise knee strike in the first round. In an interview with ONE Championship, Jeremy Pacatiw said:

“What makes Andrade really good is his timing and his patience in his matches. During our match, he really waited for me to make a mistake before he unleashed his knee. You could see how perfectly he timed that. I’ll be the one to tell you, that was not a lucky shot. He really timed my attack. I slipped, and he took advantage of it. He’s really good.”

Andrade and Pacatiw were still measuring each other out in the first minute of the opening round with neither fighter going full steam ahead. They did launch a few heavy shots at each other, but it was ‘Wonder Boy’ who dealt the critical blow. Pacatiw moved in for a right straight but Andrade kept his stance and tagged the Filipino fighter with a well-timed left knee to the mid-section.

‘Buchecha’ hyped for Fabricio Andrade’s showdown with John Lineker

Fabricio Andrade’s world title match against John Lineker isn’t just for bantamweight supremacy, it’s also a clash of two Brazilian generational talents. While the overall mixed martial arts community is looking forward to the bout, Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida is a bit more excited than the rest.

For Almeida, who’s a 17-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion, watching two of his fellow countrymen fight for the ONE bantamweight world title is a great experience all to itself. In an interview with ONE Championship, ‘Buchecha’ said:

“This fight is going to be awesome! I'm really looking forward to it, and I can't wait for this fight to happen. I think it will be 100 percent striking. They've been challenging each other for some time on the internet, saying it's forbidden to attempt a takedown. So, I think it will be a wild fight, pure striking!”
