"That's not gonna get you a title shot" - Jamahal Hill on Magomed Ankalaev's reaction to spilt draw against Jan Blachowicz

Jamahal Hill believes the UFC might not consider Magomed Ankalaev as a potential opponent for his first title defense. Having dethroned Glover Teixeira in emphatic fashion at UFC 283, 'Sweet Dreams' is now willing to take on any elite 205'er.

However, Hill believes Ankalaev has been removed from the immediate light heavyweight title picture over his extreme reaction to his last fight. The Dagestani contender threatened not to compete in the promotion ever again after his UFC 282 title fight against Jan Blachowicz was scored a split draw.

According to newly crowned champion Hill, Ankalaev's behavior is certainly not the way to a UFC gold bid. The 31-year-old told MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn:

"I don't really think they feeling Magomed like that. You know, just for the simple fact of how he responded to the decision of it being a draw. He goes, 'I'll never fight for the UFC'. You know, like, that's not gonna get you a title shot bro. They might put him through another test."

Ankalaev did nothing to hide his feelings about the split draw decision, threatening to part with the organization. Magomed Ankalaev issued an immediate clarification

Magomed Ankalaev appeared more composed in the UFC 282 post-fight presser, although he maintained his stance of having won the fight. Ankalaev even issued a clarification to MMA Fighting's Damon Martin regarding the heated comments he made in his post-fight octagon interview.

Blaming mistranslation, the Dagestani contender claimed that he had talked about not fighting in Las Vegas again as opposed to not fighting in the UFC. Ankalaev said:

"It was mistranslated, I said I didn’t want to fight in this city anymore. Because the judges were horrible. I won this fight. Not one person online said I lost this fight. Even Jan Blachowicz said I won this fight. I get it. After the second round, my knee was gone but I still fought. I bit down on my mouthguard and I did the best I can. This fight can only help me grow and I’m grateful for the opportunity.”
