“The whole world's going to watch” - ONE Championship CEO says the Pacio-Brooks fight will have a massive impact

ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong recently sat down with CNN Sports Desk to discuss how big ONE 164 is going to be. The December 3 event will be hosted at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, the Philippines.

ONE 164 will be headlined by a battle for the strawweight throne as American challenger Jarred Brooks looks to capture the crown from reigning and defending ONE strawweight world champion Joshua Pacio. The Filipino athlete will be fighting in front of a home audience.

Chatri Sityodtong explained the magnitude of ONE 164, saying:

"I think the whole world's going to watch this fight. I think every Filipino is going to watch this fight. 100 million fans in the Philippines and people go crazy. It's crazy."

Joshua Pacio and Jarred Brooks discuss ONE Championship battle

Pacio and Brooks will collide in the headlining fight at ONE 164 on December 3. The two fighters have had bad blood for months and will finally get the chance to settle their differences in the ONE Championship circle.

In the promo video for the event, Pacio tells Brooks:

“Jarred Brooks, you’ve never fought somebody like me. This is my division. I’m not even at my peak, and I’m the best in the world. That’s a scary thing for Jarred Brooks. You will lose because of your arrogance.”

Brooks is understandably excited to be in the main event in Manila. While speaking to MMA Sucka, he exclaimed:

"I’m super excited for this bout and it’s years in the making so it’s going to be a war, definitely not a doozy. We’re going to be going out and trying to kill each other, I want to get this done in the first two rounds and see where it goes from there. I’m looking forward for it man, there’s nothing that’s gonna be stopping me in this fight."
