Upcoming ONE strawweight world title challenger Jarred Brooks has been chomping at the bit as far as getting his hands on reigning world champion Joshua Pacio.

'The Monkey God' has been on a relentless pursuit of the belt ever since he debuted in ONE Championship last year. At ONE 164 on December 3, he will finally get what he wants.

In a promo video aired during ONE on Prime Video 3, ONE created a pulse-pounding trailer for the eventual showdown between the strawweight greats.

One of the more interesting soundbites of the video was what Brooks said about the mild-mannered but menacing world champ:

"He [Pacio] wants to act all tough. You’re gonna get your *ss kicked."

Brooks added:

"I swear I’m taking that belt home with me to the United States."

Those are certainly big words from 'Monkey God', but in the end, what matters most is what happens when the circle doors are shut.

Brooks, beyond a shadow of a doubt, believes that he is head-and-shoulders better than Pacio in every aspect of the game. Come December 3, he will have the chance to prove it.

Jarred Brooks' path leading up to his world title fight with Joshua Pacio

It hasn't been an easy road for Jarred Brooks in his pursuit of gold in ONE Championship. The American wrestling machine debuted in the promotion at ONE: NEXGEN III back in November of 2021 against Joshua Pacio's teammate, Lito 'Thunder Kid' Adiwang.

After dispatching one of the most explosive fighters on the roster via arm-triangle choke in the first round, Brooks then faced strawweight standout Hiroba Minowa. Minowa took Brooks through all three rounds but couldn't do enough to beat the dominant attack of 'Monkey God'.

After starting 2022 by handily beating Minowa, Jarred Brooks punched his ticket to a world title bout by forcing the previously undefeated Bokang Masunyane to tap out at ONE 156.

Immediately after submitting 'Little Giant' in the first round via rear-naked choke, Brooks hopped on top of the circle fence and brazenly warned the world champion that he's coming.

After three dominant wins inside the ONE Championship circle, Brooks is nearly at the top of the mountain. All he has to do now is to take out the current ruler atop the division, the highly dangerous Wushu striker and MMA superstar Joshua Pacio.

December 3rd can't come any sooner.
