Both fans and critics alike are giving rave reviews about Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but Jarred Brooks is still not impressed.

The No.1-ranked strawweight contender made his displeasure known in a recent tweet, writing:

“And the award for the worst marvel movie of all time goes to wakanda forever”.

Love him or hate him, 'The Monkey God' is not one to bite his tongue and always expresses his unadulterated views on a lot of things. Brooks’ latest hot take, however, is definitely veering toward the unpopular opinion side given the film’s $330 million global launch and $180 million domestic debut.

A sequel to director Ryan Coogler’s 2018 blockbuster superhero film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is one of the most highly-anticipated movies of 2022 following the real-life death of its lead star, Chadwick Boseman, who succumbed to colon cancer in 2020.

The second film of the esteemed Black Panther franchise adopted Boseman’s passing into the story, as the fictional nation of Wakanda is seen mourning the death of its beloved king, T’Challa.

Meanwhile, Jarred Brooks did not elaborate further on why he disliked the popular film, but it appears he’s not alone in the matter, although some others have based their criticism on controversial reasons. Wakanda Forever is expected to be banned in China – and perhaps in other countries – for supposedly featuring openly gay characters.

For now, the 29-year-old American is veering all his attention towards his upcoming ONE strawweight world title bout against the division’s king, Joshua Pacio.

Two of the best 125-pound fighters in the world will take center stage in the main event of ONE 164: Pacio vs Brooks.

The marquee matchup takes place in front of a packed Mall of Asia Arena crowd in Pacio’s backyard in Manila, Philippines on December 3.

Jarred Brooks wants to fight Demetrious Johnson before he retires

Jarred Brooks is so confident about his chances against Joshua Pacio that he’s already calling out another world champion.

ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson, who’s considered by some as MMA’s greatest of all time, is currently on the tail-end of his historic career. But before ‘Mighty Mouse’ sails off into the sunset, ‘The Monkey God’ proposed a showdown between him and his fellow American.

Brooks made this clear in a video posted on his Twitter account:

"Demetrious Johnson went on Joe Rogan the other day. He said he's about on his way out. I think a perfect last fight for him would be me."

Jarred Brooks, who’s always full of surprises, even suggested unique stipulations to their match, just to keep things interesting.

He added:

"A strawweight vs. flyweight champion. And if you wanted to make it interesting, we can make it mixed rules as well. We can go one round Muay Thai, second round jiu-jitsu, and third round MMA."
