Sean Strickland is considering creating a new Twitter account after the change in ownership of the social media site.

In a recent interview with Helen Yee, 'Tarzan' was asked whether he planned on joining Twitter again after Elon Musk's recent takeover of the platform. Strickland said:

"You know, the thing about Twitter, it's f**king cancer. And whenever I get on Twitter, the worst parts of me come out. So yes, I'm gonna make a f**king Twitter [account]."

Strickland has always been known to speak his mind. However, this trait has not done the UFC middleweight any favors. Earlier this year, 'Tarzan' put out a transphobic tweet that got him suspended from the social media platform.

The 31-year-old then did an interview with Yee, where he trashed Twitter and said the platform was not for a guy like him:

"Twitter has just become a liberal safe place, f***ing cesspool, and I don't think that my brand of f***ing white trash redneck is meant to be on Twitter... Everytime I post something, I get reported, and then, you know... Twitter, it's a cesspool, like it's just downhill, man."

What's next for Sean Strickland?

Sean Strickland is set to headline UFC Fight Night 216, which will take place at the UFC Apex Facility in Nevada. The event will be held on 17 December, and Strickland will share the octagon with former title challenger Jared Cannonier in a five-round middleweight showdown.

Both fighters will be coming off losses into this matchup. In his last outing, Sean Strickland took on Alex Pereira and lost the fight via knockout in the opening round. Before that, 'Tarzan' was riding a six-fight win streak that included victories over Jack Hermansson, Uriah Hall, and Krzysztof Jotko.

Cannonier's last fight was for the championship against Israel Adesanya at UFC 276. The fight went the 25-minute distance and ended in a lopsided victory for 'The Last Stylebender'.

With an emphatic victory, one of these middleweights could strengthen his case for the title contention against the newly-crowned middleweight champ 'Poatan'.
