Earlier this year, reports surfaced suggesting that Kamaru Usman would be involved in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. As it's now official, the former welterweight champion has released some details about his new role in the movie.
"The Nigerian Nightmare" has easily been one of the best fighters of his generation inside the octagon. He has beaten everyone who stepped up to face him and dominated his division for seven years. His 15-fight win streak saw him put on some iconic displays, with his knockout of Jorge Masvidal arguably topping the list.
While speaking in an interview, Kamaru Usman discussed details about his time on set as a Naval Officer in the recently released Black Panther: Wakanda Forever movie. He later admitted that acting is something he wishes to pursue in the future:
"I can't give away too much, but one thing that I can say is there's a lot of fighting that takes place in the water in this movie... I play Naval Officer One and I'm in charge of some things that go on in the water... This is something I really want to do. But first, I need to finish my day job first. I need to get to a point in my day job where I'm confident and comfortable with what I've done there." (3:11 onward)
In the interview, Kamaru Usman showcased a snippet of what can be expected from him in the film, as he tells M'Baku (Winston Duke) to "watch his tone" during a heated exchange.

What's next for Kamaru Usman?
While branching out and delving into new career paths, Kamaru Usman had to defend his 170lb throne against Leon Edwards.
Despite a great performance, he lost via a devastating head kick. This was his first loss in the UFC since arriving from The Ultimate Fighter back in 2015. At 35 years old, the elite fighter still hopes to win back his title in the near future.
As reported by Dana White, Usman will be given the chance to reclaim his throne in a trilogy fight against Leon Edwards, with the bout likely to take place in England.
