Renato Moicano last entered the octagon in September as he defeated Benoit Saint Denis via second-round TKO in the main event of UFC Fight Night 243. While he had previously expressed interest in facing Dan Hooker or Paddy Pimblett in his next bout, he has reportedly been booked against a different opponent.
The No.10-ranked lightweight is reportedly in talks to face Beneil Dariush.
Fans shared their reaction to the rumored bout. @DGenGigaChad claimed that Dariush is being fed to the wolves:
"Throwing Dariush to the wolves ☠️"
@iluminadorapaz believes the No.9-ranked lightweight will win the bout:
"Dariush wins this"
@SlickRicksPickz questioned why Moicano will not be facing Pimblett:
"Whatever happened with Moicano vs Paddy?"
@TheCSMatrixer revealed why they are not a fan of the matchup:
"Not the fight anyone wants for Moicano. We all wanted him vs Paddy on that fight night card in London next year. Dariush should be facing someone lower ranked or someone thats been as inactive as him, not a killer like Moicano"

Renato Moicano previously shared he wants a title shot after his next win
Renato Moicano is riding a four-fight winning streak that has led him to enter the top ten of the lightweight rankings. After his latest victory over Benoit Saint Denis, he revealed that he wants to fight for the belt after one more win.
Speaking at the UFC Fight Night 243 post-fight press conference, Moicano shared:
"Go to the top 15 and see somebody with six wins and five finishes. People cannot deny me anymore. I'm 35 years old. I don't have much time so now it's time to go. I want to beat Dan Hooker or Paddy Pimblett or somebody else and fight for the title."

While Moicano believes he is one win away from a title shot, the lightweight title picture is currently crowded. Islam Makhachev is reportedly in talks to defend his belt against Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 311 in January, while Charles Oliveira appears to be next in line to fight for the belt.
