At UFC 280, the fight between bantamweights Petr Yan and Sean O'Malley created a lot of controversy. The three-round contest was named Fight of the Night.

Many felt Yan should have been awarded the victory instead of O'Malley. Besides controlling 'Sugar' on the ground for one-third of the fight, 'No Mercy' even outlanded his foe in the striking department.

Looking at the total strike stats provided by the UFC, Yan landed 97 strikes against the American's total of 91. However, 'Sugar' was deemed to have landed the more significant blows. The official stats have O'Malley landing 84 significant strikes compared to Yan's total of 58.

'No Mercy' suffocated O'Malley on the mat, recording 5 minutes and 44 seconds of control time. Yan landed six out of his 13 takedown attempts, while O'Malley failed to get a takedown the one time that he went for it.

Only one of the judges, Vito Paolillo, awarded Yan with the victory. However, they all agreed that the Russian had lost the final round.

What did Petr Yan and fellow fighters say on Twitter about the UFC 280 scorecard?

Petr Yan wasn't too happy with the official UFC decision after his bout against Sean O'Malley. He also wrote a short but strong message on Twitter after the bout. The Russian clearly felt the judges had stolen the victory away from him and even gained sympathy from fellow fighters.

Yan held nothing back in his criticism of the judges:

"F**k the judges!"

Fellow UFC fighter Li 'The Leech' Jingliang quickly commented on Yan's post and sympathized with the Russian. Interestingly, Jingliang also suffered a controversial split-decision loss against Daniel Rodriguez at UFC 279. 'The Leech' said:

The outspoken Bellator MMA fighter, Dillion Danis, was also left unimpressed by the UFC judges' decision and jokingly stated that somebody should phone the police after the robbery:

The highly-rated UFC light heavyweight contender, Aleksandar Rakic, had a similar view. Rakic referenced Petr Yan's previous fight - his championship rematch against reigning champ Aljamain Sterling which he also lost via split-decision:
