UFC lightweight prospect describes "surreal" experience of watching Joe Rogan praise his "wild" performance inside the octagon

Terrance McKinney couldn't get enough of Joe Rogan praising him on a recent episode of his podcast.

On an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the UFC color commentator was in conversation with Maynard James Keenan, the lead singer of the acclaimed metal band Tool.

Keenan spoke about how he placed a bet on Drew Dober ahead of his fight against Terrance McKinney at UFC Vegas 60 in March. Although McKinney lost the fight, he managed to drop Dober twice before being finished. It's worth noting that 'T-Wrecks' accepted the bout on short notice.

Joe Rogan praised McKinney's performance and labeled it "wild." The 28-year-old lightweight prospect was clearly thrilled by Rogan's comments and took to Twitter to share the "surreal" experience. He tweeted:

"I opened up a clip of Rogan talkin about this last UFC PPV just for him to be saying my name immediately I was caught way off guard but it’s a surreal feeling hearin this."

McKinney was on a commendable five-fight win streak which included two victories under the UFC banner heading into the Dober fight.

'T-Wrecks' put the lightweight division on notice when he made his UFC debut at UFC 263 last year. The American clocked the fastest knockout in UFC lightweight history when he made quick work of Matt Frevola within seven seconds of the very first round.

Joe Rogan on Islam Makhachev's title-winning performance at UFC 280

Islam Makhachev claimed the UFC lightweight title with his win over Charles Oliveira at UFC 280. Up until the recently concluded championship fight, a lot was being made about Makhachev's lack of victories against top-ranked opponents in the division.

Lightweight contender Michael Chandler notably claimed that the praises being showered on Makhachev were premature.

At UFC 280, Makhachev silenced his doubters and cemented his position as the best in the 155-pound division. Joe Rogan was mighty impressed by the Russian's performance, highlighting how he submitted the UFC record-holder for submission victories.

Hailing Makhachev's ascent up the ranks, Rogan said:

"I was saying leading up to him [Makhachev] getting a shot at the world title, he's the boogeyman of that division. He was the guy that everybody was saying the most dominant of all the contenders."

Speaking on his title-winning performance, Rogan added:

"The fact that he got on Oliveira and mounted him and then submitted him with an arm-triangle... He submitted the guy with the most submissions in the history of the sport."
