Going by White's claims, the event will break the gate record currently held by UFC 205 which earned $17.7 million in gate revenue. UFC 205 was headlined by Irish superstar Conor McGregor and marked the promotion's first ever event at the prestigious Madison Square Garden in New York.
McGregor took on Eddie Alvarez that night and knocked him out in the second round. With the victory, 'The Notorious' became the first UFC fighter to hold two championships simultaneously.
UFC Noche at the Sphere will be headlined by a bantamweight title clash between Merab Dvalishvili and champion Sean O'Malley.
O'Malley is undefeated in his last seven UFC outings. Dvalishvili, on the other hand, is riding a 10-fight win streak that includes wins over Henry Cejudo, Petr Yan and Jose Aldo.
So, it will be interesting to see as to who will emerge victorious in this exciting encounter come September 14.
The co-main event will feature another title bout in the form of a trilogy fight between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko for the flyweight throne.
Apart from that, prominent fighters like Brian Ortega, Diego Lopes, Raul Rosas Jr., Ignacio Bahamondes, Irene Aldana and Norma Dumont are also scheduled to compete on the UFC Noche card.
