As a gesture of goodwill, the promotion's broadcast shared a clip of the former welterweight's time in the octagon during UFC Atlanta this past weekend, urging everyone to join hands for Askren's quick recovery.
Former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier, who has a close relationship with Askren, took to Instagram and reposted the promotion's tribute while he watched it on television, writing:

Askren (19-2) is a former ONE and Bellator welterweight champion. Notably, he made three octagon appearances, starting with submitting Robbie Lawler at UFC 235. Askren then retired from MMA after losing against Jorge Masvidal and Demian Maia in 2019.
