This week's action in the UFC sees the promotion return to the AT&T center in San Antonio, Texas, for the third time. UFC on ESPN: Vera vs. Sandhagen will be headlined by two top bantamweight contenders, Marlon Vera and Cory Sandhagen, on March 25, 2023.

Vera is ranked No.3 in the bantamweight contenders rankings, just two spots above Sandhagen's No.5. A potential result for either fighter in the main event could aid their chances for a title shot with the belt currently being contested between champion Aljamain Sterling and returning former champion Henry Cejudo.

'Chito' comes into the fight in better form, off the back of four straight victories. Sandhagen, however, has lost two of his last three fights and will be looking to make amends.

In the co-main event, former women's bantamweight champion Holly Holm will take on Yana Kunitskaya. Flyweight contenders Andrea Lee and Maycee Barber will clash in a bid to break into the top 10 of their divisional rankings.

Featherweight Nate Landwehr will take on Austin Lingo after Alex Caceres' withdrawal. The heaviest matchup on the night will feature middleweights Chidi Njokuani and Albert Duraev.

The event can be watched live on UFC Fight Pass and on the ESPN network, with the main card kicking off at 7:00 PM EST or 4:30 AM IST on Sunday for Indian viewers.

Sean O'Malley gives his prediction for UFC on ESPN: Vera vs. Sandhagen

Sean O'Malley weighed in on the upcoming main event clash between Marlon Vera and Cory Sandhagen.

The bantamweight contender was recently bumped down to No.2 by Merab Dvalishvili's ascension to the top spot courtesy of his excellent win over Petr Yan.

O'Malley praised 'Chito' and his hot streak while also hinting at a potential matchup against him with a title shot on the line.

'Sugar' tweeted:

"Chito is really good, very impressive last couple fights. Excited for his fight with Cory. I’m going for Chito. Rematch will be huge. Belt on the line. Will be epic"

O'Malley also kept open the possibility of Sandhagen pulling off a victory while asserting that he is the biggest draw in the division.

"Cory might beat him tho. Either way the division is very exciting. Suga Vs Anyone is a huge fight."

The bantamweight division has an exciting future ahead but all eyes will be on Aljamain Sterling's title defense against the returning Henry Cejudo at UFC 288.
