Umar Nurmagomedov recently clapped back at Merab Dvalishvili for comments he made regarding the opportunities he has received in his UFC career so far. The surging bantamweight contender took offense to the Georgian as he implied that his cousin Khabib Nurmagomedov's influence has been an advantage.
'Young Eagle' earned the biggest win of his career at UFC on ABC 7 this past Saturday as he earned a unanimous decision win over No. 4 ranked bantamweight Cory Sandhagen. The win was significant as Nurmagomedov certainly inserted his name in the title picture and could very well have earned the next title shot.
After Dvalishvili shared his thoughts on the Dagestani's cousin Khabib being a factor in receiving opportunities, he took to his X account to fire back. Nurmagomedov mentioned that 'The Machine' could have earned a title shot sooner and claimed that he fears what he is capable of. He wrote:
"Yan fought for title after six iwin. O'Malley after four win. Merab could fight for title with Aljo last year. You have to stop crying. You just scared that I will take everything from you."

How many spots did Umar Nurmagomedov jump in the UFC bantamweight rankings?
UFC on ABC 7 signified a massive shake-up in the promotion's stacked bantamweight division as two competitors surged up the rankings and closed in on a potential title shot.
MMA journalist John Morgan tweeted a photo of the updated rankings, which showed Umar Nurmagomedov surging up eight spots to No. 2. Based on his fighting style, 'Young Eagle' could earn the next title shot as he matches up quite well with both Merab Dvalishvili and reigning bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley.
It will be interesting to see whether Nurmagomedov receives the next title shot or if the promotion books him in a title eliminator against another top contender in Deiveson Figueiredo instead.
