After emerging victorious in his recent fight against Danny Roberts, Jack Della Maddalena has his sights set on the UFC 284 pay-per-view, which will be headlined by Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski.

Della Maddalena won his third straight fight in the promotion at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Spivak. The welterweight also earned his second straight Performance of the Night bonus as his barrage of punches knocked out Roberts in the very first round.

Having won every bout in the octagon via knockout thus far, Maddalena is proving to be a fearsome competitor at welterweight. In an interview with FULL SEND MMA, he stated his intention to fight on the upcoming UFC 284 card in Perth, Australia.

"A hundred percent, yeah. I think there's no question I will be on that card [UFC 284], no doubt."

Alexander Volkanovski is ready to take on Islam Makhachev despite physical differences

Alexander Volkanovski vs. Islam Makhachev is an intriguing stylistic matchup with both champions equally well-rounded.

While many fans feel the size difference will be key in the fight, the featherweight champion is prepared to prove them wrong. 'Volk' addressed the topic in an interview with Submission Radio:

“I feel like he’s sort of underestimating me in a sense. Where I’m just a featherweight, a small featherweight, how am I going to be able to handle his strength? You know what I mean? That’s how he’s looking at it, which is going to be a shock when we are in that octagon... When he tries to grab a hold of me, realizes, ‘Oh sh*t, this short guy isn’t as weak as I thought’ [and] struggles to get me down. Or even if he does get me down, I get straight back up."

Islam Makhachev's lightweight championship will be on the line, but top status in the pound-for-pound rankings will also unofficially be at stake in the super fight.
