Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal made his debut octagon appearance at UFC 285 and put on a dominant showing.

Gyllenhaal graced the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas to shoot for his upcoming movie, the remake of the 80's cult classic Road House. The Nightcrawler star walked out to the octagon in typical UFC fashion, even being stopped for the vaseline drill by Cutman Tate.

In another shot, Gyllenhaal was seen with his back against the cage taking devastating hooks from his opponent who's reportedly playing the UFC middleweight champ in the movie. Actor and ex-UFC fighter Jay Hieron plays the role.

Gyllenhaal's character suddenly turned the tables with a body shot, followed by two punches to the head that rocked his opponent.

Jake Gyllenhaal went on to finish the fight with a huge flying knee to become the UFC middleweight champ. He also landed a barrage of illegal shots on his downed opponent after the referee's intervention, which will likely lead to dire consequences in a real UFC fight.

Gyllenhaal has seemingly chosen the UFC 285 fight card to shoot his fight scenes for the Road House remake, even making an appearance at the weigh-ins. The Hollywood star is no stranger to combat sports movies, having starred in the widely acclaimed boxing movie Southpaw.

Irish actor slams Jake Gyllenhaal's co-star Conor McGregor

Doug Liman's remake of Patrick Swayze's Road House also features UFC superstar Conor McGregor alongside Jake Gyllenhaal.

'Notorious' has shared multiple photos from the set of the movie, which will also be his debut feature film. However, Irish actor Liam Neeson seemingly won't be watching McGregor's movie. While he is no stranger to action movies, the Taken star doesn't approve of MMA fights.

Neeson slammed McGregor for giving Ireland a bad name and likened UFC bouts to bar fights. Sharing his rather harsh take on MMA, the 70-year-old recently told Variety:

“UFC I can’t stand. That to me is like a bar fight. I know the practitioners are like, ‘no, you’re wrong — the months of training we do …’ Why don’t you just grab a beer bottle and hit the other guy over the head? That’s the next stage of the UFC. I hate it. That little leprechaun Conor McGregor, he gives Ireland a bad name. I know he’s fit, and I admire him for that. But I can’t take it.”
