ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama is the perfect epitome of traditional techniques and practices done at the highest level. The absolutely dominant Muay Thai king's arsenal is made up of moves and techniques you might see in a beginner's introductory class.

The only difference is that he's done them thousands and thousands of times and they're nearly impossible to deal with at his level. One age-old practice Nong-O Hama incorporates in his fight camp is his brutal conditioning drills.

In a video released by ONE Championship on Instagram, we saw the Thai living legend strengthen his midsection by simply having someone kick it multiple times.

Here's the video:

"Nong-O Hama has a steel core 💯 The bantamweight Muay Thai king defends his throne against British sensation Jonathan Haggerty at ONE Fight Night 9 on April 21! 🏆 @nongogaiyanghadao"

You won't see Nong-O looking at YouTube influencer videos for fitness and conditioning advice. It doesn't get any more fundamentalist than having someone slam their shin on your abs to strengthen your core.

There's a "Rocky Balboa" effect in Nong-O's traditional training regimen and perhaps that's why he's head-over-heels above everybody else in his division for years now.

Nong-O Hama defends world title against former flyweight titleholder Jonathan Haggerty

Former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Jonathan Haggerty will look to challenge long-time ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama. Their much-awaited world title clash is set for ONE Fight Night 9 on April 21 in Singapore.

Haggerty, known as 'The General' to his fans, will try to claim another belt in ONE Muay Thai, but this time in a weight class ten pounds higher.

'The General' has had great momentum ever since he lost his flyweight belt to Rodtang three years ago. The English striker won three straight fights in ONE Championship, with the most recent being a majority decision win over Russia's Vladimir Kuzmin at ONE on Prime Video 4 in November 2022. Haggerty is looking good in his new home at bantamweight.

Nong-O has been world champion since 2019 and was barely put in any trouble by his opponents in his last ten fights. He has defended his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai belt a record seven times, with his last five coming by way of knockout.

The rest of the fight card for ONE Fight Night 9 is yet to be announced. The event will air live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
