'Jojo' looked good early against the Colombian-American, eagerly showcasing what he learned under the tutelage of ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon at his famed Superbon Training Camp.

Unfortunately, the 31-year-old's proficiency in the clinch and excellent footwork had Ghazali struggling to find an optimal response to the barrages thrown his way in the second and third rounds.

Johan Ghazali can still be a megastar despite latest defeat

Johan Ghazali gave it his all, and then some, in his three-round barnburner with Diego Paez, but it was just not enough in the judges' eyes inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Malaysian-American was off to a blistering start in his ONE career after racking up a four-fight winning streak in the ONE Friday Fights circuit, which earned him the coveted six-figure main roster contract.

However, falling short against Paez not only marked his third defeat in five outings but also his first losing streak in the promotion.

Fans need not worry about his future, as Ghazali has proven that he possesses the commitment necessary to eventually become a superstar in 'The Art of Eight Limbs'. Such heartbreaking experiences this early should set the 18-year-old up for dominance very soon.
