At ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III on Prime Video, Reinier de Ridder attempted to bounce back after losing his ONE light heavyweight world title to Anatoly Malykhin last year. Unfortunately, the reigning ONE middleweight world champion ran into a 20-year-old BJJ phenom, IBJJF world champion Tye Ruotolo, in a submission grappling match.Though 'The Dutch Knight' did his best to impose his grappling prowess upon the smaller Ruotolo, it wasn't enough to overcome the American's relentless attacks. The two continued to battle against the Circle wall as the ONE middleweight world champion tried to escape Ruotolo's active clinch.As the clinch battle continued, Renier de Ridder tried to use his size and strength advantage but was largely nullified by Ruotolo's relentless aggression. By the halfway mark of the 10-minute bout, neither man had succeeded at taking the fight to the ground.With 3:35 left, 'The Dutch Knight' attempted a sweep which Tye Ruotolo countered with a slick back-take. Unfortunately, the size difference stopped the young BJJ prodigy from completing the position. Ruotolo finally took 'RDR' down for the first time with just 25 seconds left in the match. It was too little too late, however, as the clock winded down with Reinier De Ridder wiggling back to his feet.The Dutch MMA star wasn't able to mount any serious offense as Ruotolo's technical mastery of the clinch and relentless attacking mindset overwhelmed him in nearly every second of the fight.
