UFC veteran Stephen Thompson showed that age is just a number with his striking masterclass against Kevin Holland at UFC Orlando. However, 'Wonderboy' will have to pick up a few more wins before he can put himself in the title picture again.

During the UFC Post Show following the event in Orlando, 'Wonderboy' clarified that a UFC title is still the goal he is striving for:

"A 100% man. You know what, the goal [of winning a title] is always on the top of the list... you sent me back in there very soon. [I've] got to get back to the drawing board, I still got some things I got to work on, but you'll see a better, stronger Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson next time."

Speaking to the media at the post-fight press conference at UFC Orlando, the former two-time welterweight title challenger reiterated that although he is still hunting for the title, he would also like to face some strikers along the way:

"If you want some more fights like that [his fight with Kevin Holland] give me a striker baby!... Of course, I'm always looking for the title and that's always on the top of the list but why not have some fun fights on the way."

Stephen Thompson is currently 17-6-1 as a professional mixed martial artist. The South Carolina native's last title shot came all the way back in 2017 at UFC 209 against Tyron Woodley. Thompson lost the fight via majority decision.

Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson holds wins over two former UFC champions.

At UFC 170, Thompson delivered a first-round knockout victory against Robert Whittaker. Although the Australian was not a champion at the time, he was later crowned as the promotion's middleweight champion in 2017.

Thompson also holds a TKO victory against former welterweight kingpin Johny Hendricks from their UFC Fight Night 82 bout in 2016. However, Hendricks had already lost his title to Robbie Lawler when he faced the former kickboxer.
