Molly McCann has one of the most unique and affectionate monikers in the entire UFC. The Liverpudlian is nicknamed 'Meatball' because she worked at Subway before making a name for herself as a UFC fighter.

During a conversation with MMA Fighting, the UFC women's flyweight revealed that she earned the moniker because she would smell like a meatball while working at the food chain:

"I only got called it [Meatball] because I smelled like them."

See McCann explain her moniker to MMA Fighting below:

Molly McCann has been a part of the UFC roster for over four years now. She made her promotional debut in May 2018, suffering a technical submission defeat at the hands of Gillian Robertson. She bounced back with three consecutive victories, but ended up on the wrong side of a unanimous decision in two subsequent bouts.

However, the former Cage Warriors flyweight champion has since gotten back into the win column and picked up three straight victories. McCann gained a lot of attention with her sensational spinning elbow knockout win over Luana Carolina at the UFC London card this past March.

Molly McCann set to face Erin Blanchfield at UFC 281

Molly McCann is set to make her first UFC pay-per-view appearance at the upcoming UFC 281 card. The Liverpudlian is coming off back-to-back finishes, with her most recent win coming over Hannah Goldy at July's London-held Fight Night.

Ranked No.15 in the women's flyweight division, McCann will look to build on the momentum and pick up her third straight stoppage victory when she takes on a streaking Erin Blanchfield.

Blanchfield, 23, is a relative newcomer to the UFC with a sole blemish on her MMA record. She is ranked three spots ahead of 'Meatball' at No.12.

The American will look to make her fourth successful promotional appearance when she takes on Molly McCann at UFC 281. 'Cold Blooded' is currently riding a six-fight win streak, with her latest triumph coming over J.J. Aldrich via second-round submission in June. She has finished three of her last six fights.

A win over Erin Blanchfield will no doubt boost the Liverpudlian's stock and push her towards the top 10 of the division. However, it will be one of McCann's sternest challenges to date.
