Love him or hate him, Jake Paul has been one of the sternest advocates of fighter pay in the combat sports space.

The YouTuber-turned-professional boxer has often targeted UFC president Dana White in his quest to raise awareness about fighter pay. However, Paul appeared to be worried that he may have been fighting for a cause that no one seemed to care about.

On Twitter, 'The Problem Child' lamented that his calls to improve the fighters' benefits are falling on deaf ears

"In 2022, I spent more time speaking on increasing fighter pay than anyone else," Paul wrote. "Am I fighting a battle no one cares about... UFC fighters are underpaid and desever healthcare?"

Paul deleted the tweet hours after he posted it. It's still unclear why the up-and-coming boxer decided to take down his post, given his outspoken nature.

Jake Paul outlines plans for fighters' union

Jake Paul may be one of the most hated personalities among the MMA community, but his work in contributing to the sport is undeniable. On top of constantly talking about the fighter pay issue, Paul has taken pragmatic steps to make a long-lasting impact on fighters' lives.

Before his fight with Anderson Silva, Paul revealed that he was planning on establishing a fighters' union to champion the cause of cage fighters. He also challenged Silva to join his organization if he ended up beating the former UFC middleweight titleholder – something that Silva seemingly honored after the bout.

During an appearance on Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast, Jake indicated that one of his first tasks in his new venture is to raise a staggering amount of money that could interrupt the UFC’s flow of talent.

In theory, doing so would entice the world's leading MMA promotion to come up with better contract terms for the athletes:

"We’re going to raise $50 million, and the fighters who are fighting check [to] check – we will fund them so they don’t have to be obedient to the UFC,” Paul said. “We will fund their salaries or their career earnings."

However, the 25-year-old didn't elaborate on his comments. It remains to be seen what Paul's union will do next to get its plans moving.
