Henry Cejudo is frustrated when fighters with high-level wrestling backgrounds deviate from their strengths so they wouldn’t be labeled as boring fighters.

Cejudo released a video on his YouTube channel, where he expressed that he gets frustrated with fighters like Michael Chandler and Yoel Romero. Cejudo believes they focus more on appeasing the fans instead of securing a win by taking the least damage possible:

“Do I get frustrated with Michael Chandler? Yes, I do. But it’s not just Michael Chandler, it’s a lot of those guys like Yoel Romero. A lot of those guys that have lost their title quest because of the entertainment. Because they wanna do x, y, and z. And if you don’t reel it back, if you don’t bring it back to wrestling, you’re gonna learn the hard.”

‘Triple C’s comments could be alluding to Chandler’s loss to Justin Gaethje, where he competed in a stand-up slugfest rather than find openings with his takedowns. As a result, ‘The Highlight’ received a title shot against then-lightweight champion Charles Oliveira, while ‘Iron’ had to begin another ascent up the rankings.

Cejudo added that regardless of how a fighter gets their hand raised, a win is a win:

“At the end of the day guys, competition is competition, but it’s all about winning.”

However, it can be argued that Chandler and Romero have benefited to a certain degree. ‘Iron’ will be fighting Dustin Poirier in a highly anticipated lightweight bout. Meanwhile, ‘The Soldier of God’ is still having success with Bellator and could soon earn a title shot against Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen.

The former two-division champion hasn't fought since successfully retaining his bantamweight championship against Dominick Cruz, and ultimately announcing his retirement.
