Welcome to today's edition of the daily Sportskeeda ONE Championship News Roundup, where we present the promotion's most important stories.

Today, we’ll discuss Tammi Musumeci’s imminent ONE Championship debut against Bianca Basilio, Aung La N Sang being unsurprised by Reinier de Ridder’s loss to Anatoly Malykhin, and de Ridder looking to submit Tye Ruotolo at ONE Fight Night 10.

#3. Tammi Musumeci to make her ONE Championship debut in a grappling showdown with Bianca Basilio

There will be one more Musumeci who could potentially wreak havoc in ONE Championship’s growing submission grappling scene.

Tammi Musumeci, the older sister of ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey, is set to make her promotional debut at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video this March 24.

The multi-time BJJ world champion will take on Bianca Basilio in a strawweight submission grappling match at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

South China Morning Post first reported the development.

Tammi, who’s also a lawyer by profession, had her latest world title in the 2022 IBJJF World No-Gi Championships. The 28-year-old submitted Jasmine Rocha with a rear-naked choke to capture the gold medal in the competition.

ONE Fight Night 8 will be available live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.

#2. Aung La N Sang wasn’t surprised Anatoly Malykhin finished "one-trick pony" Reinier de Ridder

Reinier de Ridder’s first-round knockout loss to Anatoly Malykhin back in December was certainly a shocking result to witness, but not for Aung La N Sang.

The Burmese legend, whom de Ridder fought twice, knew that Malykhin was going to be a tough matchup for the Dutch star. Malykhin is a natural wrestler but he’s utilized his devastating power throughout his unstoppable run in ONE Championship.

Malykhin, despite standing five inches shorter than the 6-foot-4 de Ridder, rained down tremendous damage with his fists to capture the ONE light heavyweight world title at ONE on Prime Video 5.

Aung La, in an interview with South China Morning Post, said that de Ridder’s loss was inevitable once Malykhin marched on and practically negated the grappling department during the fight:

“I don’t think it was, I really don’t think it was surprising at all. You think about it right, RDR is a one-trick pony. He takes a person down and he grapples them, grounds and pounds them right? What other way does he win?”

The fight saw de Ridder, who still holds the ONE middleweight world title, end his double-world champion status while giving the same distinction to Malykhin, who also holds the ONE interim heavyweight world championship.

#1. Reinier de Ridder promises to tap Tye Ruotolo out in a "very close matchup"

Reinier de Ridder is one of the best submission artists in mixed martial arts, and the ONE middleweight world champion wants to prove that against one of the brightest stars from Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

The ONE middleweight world champion will take on American phenom Tye Ruotolo in a submission grappling match at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video this May 5 at 1stBank Center.

De Ridder, who has four submission wins in ONE Championship, recently spoke with the South China Morning Post and he said that he wants nothing more than to make Ruotolo tap out in Colorado.

“He’s very fast. He’s very agile and he’s a great grappler. I think it’s going to be a very close matchup, very explosive. I think it’s very important, the one who can conserve his energy for the 10-minute round will come out on top in the end. I’m going to tap this guy out.”

De Ridder already has experience in ONE Championship’s submission grappling landscape. Back in March 2022, ‘The Dutch Knight’ battled Ruotolo’s teacher Andre Galvao to a draw at ONE X.

Ruotolo, meanwhile, owns submission wins over Garry Tonon and Marat Gafurov in ONE Championship.

ONE Fight Night 10 is ONE’s first on-site fight card in the United States and will be available live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
