ONE Championship’s relentless push into the American streaming atmosphere just got a huge boost.

A couple of high-profile matches were announced for ONE on Prime Video 4 this November and ONE on Prime Video 6 in January next year.

Grappling star Danielle Kelly returns to the circle and takes on sambo world champion Mariia Molchanova on November 18.

The legendary Nong-O Gaiyanghadao, meanwhile, will defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship against Alaverdi Ramazanov in ONE Championship’s first Amazon Prime Video card of 2023.

Intrigue is certainly building up for ONE Championship’s future, but this piece is a roundup of the top stories from yesterday.

That said, here are the top three ONE Championship stories from the past 24 hours.

#3. Jarred Brooks wants to prove Demetrious Johnson wrong and "mix it up with the GOAT"

Jarred Brooks was never shy of his thoughts and opinions, even if it was against his sporting inspiration.

ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson, who’s considered one of the greatest fighters of all time, recently made an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast (JRE) and name-dropped Brooks during their conversation.

While it was a generic mention, Brooks couldn’t help but feel giddy about the de facto shoutout.

Brooks wrote in an Instagram post that he adores Johnson but also humbly requested ‘Mighty Mouse’ for a fight at ONE Championship:

“I love 'DJ'! He is the GOAT and I appreciate the name-drop, but I would love to mix it up in there with the GOAT and kindly prove him wrong that there isn't any advantage if we were fighting. I would love to win a world title then trade our knowledge in the circle together.”

Brooks, though, is in a division lower than Johnson’s and Is busy preparing for his world title challenge against ONE strawweight world champion Joshua Pacio at ONE 164 this December.

#2. Danielle Kelly return to circle announced against Mariia Molchanova at ONE on Prime Video 4

Danielle Kelly swept the martial arts world when she put on an impressive ONE Championship debut this past March at ONE X.

The American grappler went the distance and battled Japanese star Mei Yamaguchi to a draw in their submission grappling match.

A few months after her mainstream debut, Kelly is set to get back in the circle and this time it will be against sambo world champion Mariia Molchanova.

In an Instagram post, Kelly wrote:

“Finally can announce my next match will be against a decorated sambo opponent November 18th on @amazonprime @onechampionship . If you guys want to see good jiu-jitsu and a quick submission make sure you watch this match😇🤷🏻‍♀️.”

Kelly’s bout against Molchanova comes on the heels of a never-ending debate between Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) and sambo, and a win for the Silver Fox BJJ could put another feather in the American's cap.

Kade Ruotolo, one of the best BJJ fighters of his generation, recently submitted four-time sambo world champion Uali Kurzhev to become the inaugural ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion at ONE on Prime Video 3.

#1. Nong-O Gaiyanghadao vs. Alaverdi Ramazanov for bantamweight Muay Thai world title announced

Nong-O Gaiyanghadao hasn’t fought in Thailand since 2019 but the legendary striker is set for a homecoming when he defends his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title at ONE on Prime Video 6.

Thai publication Thairath was the first to break the news of Nong-O's world title fight.

The 35-year-old, who many consider one of the greatest Muay Thai artists of all time, will take on Alaverdi Ramazanov in what would be the seventh defense of his world title.

Coincidentally, Nong-O’s first defense of his world title was in Bangkok when he beat China’s Han Zi Hao at ONE: Clash of Legends in February 2019.

Ramazanov, the No.2-ranked contender in the division, believes that Nong-O’s time is up and it’s his turn to step into the throne.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Ramazanov said:

“His time has passed, and it’s my time. I’m sure I’ll take the belt from him.”
